063: Average Joe

This week on the podcast, Andrew will share some things about your “average Joe”—someone that God took from ordinary to extraordinary in only a way He can: Joseph. He’ll also take a look at someone else in the Bible who had some similar experiences (listen to find out who!), and make some applications between them. Then, we’ll look at our VersePic this week from Mark… or is it Matthew? All that and more on this episode of the Sharpening Character Podcast!

Encouraging Segment: Average Joe

Hosted by Andrew

  • Genesis 50:20
  • Esther 4:14

  1. I very much enjoyed listening to your discussion of Joseph. He’s one of my favorite people in the Bible. I had thought before about his younger attitude. But you condensed it down well and sort of firmed up my vague thoughts. Even a grandmother like me can learn from young men! I heard of your podcasts from James Staddon’s photography emails. Good job, men. I like listening to these discussions while doing laundry! I was led to this one from the one you just did on Genesis. I’ll reserve my Genesis comments for that page.

    • Thank you very much for the kind words, Mrs. Parfitt! We praise the Lord that He is continuing to use our words and efforts! 🙂

  2. I just listened to this episode again this morning, and I noticed a small thing: Mordecai was Esther’s cousin. He was OLD enough to be her uncle, but he raised his uncle’s daughter: “And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.”
