As is common for websites, we collect non-personally-identifying information that web browsers and servers make available, such as the browser and device type, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request, as well as other similar statistics. Our purpose in collecting this data is to better understand how our visitors use the site and access the podcast.
We also collect potentially personally-identifying information like IP addresses for users accessing the site and/or leaving comments. We do not disclose this information, except that data is visible to the administrators of our website (i.e. the Sharpening Character Team).
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Visitors to the site may choose to interact with it in ways that require us to gather personally-identifying information. For example, we ask visitors who comment or signup for newsletters at sharpeningcharacter.com to provide their name and email address. In each case, we only collect this information to the extent necessary to allow you to properly interact with us and the website. We don’t disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. Visitors may always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
We may collect statistics about the actions of our visitors as they use our site. This information may be displayed publicly or provide it to others. However, we do not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information
Sharpening Character discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Sharpening Character’s behalf or to provide services available at Sharpening Character’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Sharpening Character’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. We will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than the above listed examples, we will only disclose personally-identifiable information as required by law or court order.
If you have signed up for our newsletter by supplying your email address, we may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on here at Sharpening Character. If you send us a request, comment, or feedback (for example via email), we reserve the right to publish it (either in text or audio form) in order to appropriately respond. We take all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access or use of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
