For the month of March, we’re focusing on an aspect of the Christian life we sometimes neglect: fitness! The Greatest Commandment calls us to “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength” (Mark 12:30). It’s that fourth aspect we want to bring to the forefront this month!
Here’s the challenge: set a specific fitness-related goal and push to accomplish it by the end of the month.
A few examples of what we’re talking about:
- Set a new personal record (distance, time, reps, etc.) in an activity of your choice (running, lifting, etc.)
- Lose (or gain) a specific amount of weight by careful eating and exercise
- Successfully start a fitness routine
The goal of this month’s challenge is to focus on pushing ourselves to prepare for what God may set before us. We want to see our bodies as “the temple of the Holy Spirit” (1 Cor. 6:19) and use (and improve) the abilities God has given us for His glory. This month, let’s push each other onward as we examine what God’s Word has to say about fitness, learn from it, and grow closer to Him this month!
