The Weekly Podcast Encouraging and Equipping Young Men Around the World to "Stay Sharp" in Their Faith and Relationships

SC: 172: 72 Hours

Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to be in Jerusalem during that first Easter, to watch the events unfold that had been foretold for centuries, as the God’s mercy, judgement, and grace came together in the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus life, and His Resurrection and victory over death? This week on the podcast, we’re going to take a step back in time to see what it was really like!

Join us as we continue the journey this week, taking a closer look at the 72 hour stretch from the Last Supper to the Resurrection, when so much prophecy was fulfilled, our debt was paid, and Jesus was victorious over death! We’ll look deeper at some of the things that went on, and perhaps the perspectives of some of those who witnessed the events that took place. All that and more, on this episode of the Sharpening Character Podcast!

The April Challenge!

For the month of April, we’re going to be focusing on Easter, and preparing our hearts to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus–the One who was called in John 1:29, “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” As we consider the sacrifice He made for us (and the debt which He payed), we’d like to both look deeply at our own hearts, as well as praise God for His grace and mercy!
In keeping with the idea of sacrifice, here’s our challenge for this month: Choose an area to make a physical sacrifice each week, by fasting in a certain area such as food, entertainment, or social media.
The goal for this month is to experience physical sacrifice, and to exercise self control through the Biblical discipline of fasting. As we head throughout the month, ask God to open your eyes to the sin in your heart and your need for Him. Take time to think about what Jesus did now nearly two thousand years ago, giving His perfect, sinless life to pay the debt we could not pay. Praise God for His amazing gift of mercy, grace, and salvation. Join us on the podcast each week as we seek to do each of those aspects this month!
